The Serra da Canastra, in Minas Gerais, has many waterfalls, including Casca d’Anta, Rolinhos, Capão Forro, Chinela, Fundão and Gurita.
Casca d’Anta Waterfall
One of the main attractions of the Serra da Canastra National Park
At 186 meters high, it is formed by a river that comes out of a natural cut in the mountain range.
The name comes from the Drimys winteri tree, which has healing properties.
Rolinhos Waterfall
The largest waterfall in Canastra, at almost 300 meters
It has natural pools for bathing and diving.
Capão Forro Waterfall Complex
A set of waterfalls and natural pools at the foot of the mountain range.
The word “forro” comes from alforria and “capão” means forest.
It is one of the most visited places after the National Park.
Gurita or Jota Waterfall
It is located in a private area, next to the village of São João Batista.
It has a shallow pool below and a deeper pool above.
Chinela Waterfall
One of the unmissable waterfalls in the region.
The Serra da Canastra has a rugged terrain and low vegetation, which favors the observation of wild animals.
